Day of Caring
On September 10th, 2009 the United Way hosted a "Day of Caring". Here in Traverse City, Mi. the community was/is encouraged to volunteer for the day and maybe help with groups they never have worked with before.
There was/is a long list of opportunities like painting, fall clean up, food drives, school supplies being collected, etc. all things that are easy to do and a great introduction into the world of volunteering.
I was able to help out by photographing the morning gathering of the groups. It was a beautiful event and a great start to the "Day of Caring".
"Morning has Broken"

Melissa! The coolest coordinator ever :>)

Everyone was there!

I had a great time meeting Mr. Terry Phipps and seeing how he works.
And a huge Thank you to Rebecca Kinnee for coming out and bringing her partner Rick and the students that they teach photography to at Traverse Bay Career Tech Center to volunteer as photographers as well :>)
I had a fantastic time. Get out there and volunteer people. It's so easy and so very rewarding for everyone.
Love,
~ me.
